The Problem
The International Water Resources Association (IWRA), in collaboration with the Water Resources Authority (WRA), required a website to support the Islands Water Congress and communicate a large volume of information to a global audience. While the existing website contained all necessary content, there was an opportunity to improve how that information was structured and presented to better support users navigating the site.
Text-heavy pages with limited visual hierarchy, making content harder to scan and digest
Navigation that could be further refined to better reflect how users explore key sections (e.g. programme, registration, submissions)
Opportunity to elevate the overall design to feel more polished and cohesive, while maintaining familiarity
Content presentation that did not always guide users clearly toward important actions

Our Approach
We redesigned the site with a strong focus on user journeys, prioritising key actions such as registration, programme exploration, and abstract submission. Using WordPress and Elementor, we built a flexible and scalable CMS that allows the client to easily manage content. We implemented a clear information architecture, optimised navigation, and ensured full responsiveness across devices. We also integrated third-party systems for submissions and registration to create a seamless user experience.
